You have sorted and organized Photo Piles of prints and enlargements for placement in albums or for scanning.
Again, if you allow the scanning software do what it wants – its default settings – the digital image files will be saved in one disorganized folder creating a File Pile.
In the scanning process you can create FILENAME(s) for groups and individual photos, and save the image files into folders using whatever method of organizing you choose, such as by chronology and events or branches of your family for genealogy.
