Your old square family photos will not fit into today’s standard photo print and enlargement sizes.
An old photo has a lot of dead space or distracting things (or an ex…) that you do not need or want in the digital image file you are creating.
Most software has adjustments to scan to today’s standard proportions (4×6, 5×7, 8×10) and allows cropping the image as you scan.
Making these adjustments and corrections will improve the quality of the digital image and save time and heartache later.
