We have boxes, drawers, albums, computers, cameras and smartphones packed with photos. After years – if not decades – we finally decide to get them organized and presentable.
I’ve found you will spend more than half of your time just sorting and organizing your Photo Piles before you do anything else.
But before you start any of this, answer one fundamental question – who are you doing this for?
Who you intend to see this collection determines what pictures you save, and what pictures you toss.
We can not save all of our photos for the future. We have way too many. Humans do not have the attention span to go through thousands of photos.
What you save for your children and your future descendants is different than what you would save if this project is for your siblings, or for a branch of your family tree, or for a service or social group that you spent years with.
Your grandkids will love the photos of their parent as a child, but are not interested in your bowling team’s annual banquet.
